Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth & Bwindi

Murchison Falls National Park .This Park is the largest in Uganda at 3840 square kilometers. Here is the awe inspiring Murchison Falls where the River Nile hurls itself in convulsions through a narrow crevice and then plunges 40 meters in one breathtaking leap. The park has a variety of vegetation ranging from riparian forests and swamp lands to broad savannah, and provides visitors the opportunity of seeing large concentrations of wildlife including lion, leopard, civet, hyena, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, a host of smaller game, small primates and many bird species, including the rare shoebill stork.

Day 1: 

Arrive in Kampala 

This day arrive at the Entebbe airport and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2:

Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park 

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 07h30 depart and head north to On arrival at the park, head to the top of Murchison Falls, for spectacular views of the River Nile hurling itself through a narrow crevice and plunging down 40 meters in one breathtaking leap.
  • Arrive at your lodge early afternoon.
  • Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3:

Murchison Falls National Park 

  • Today there will be 3 game drives to be taken at leisure.
  • Boat trip along the River Nile to the bottom of the falls.
  • Early morning game viewing drive retuning to the lodge for breakfast.
 Day 4:
Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park
  • 07h00 after an early breakfast, depart from Murchison Falls with a packed lunch and head southwest, for the long drive to Kibale Forest via Hoima. Kibale is famous for chimpanzee trekking and bird watching
Day 5:
Queen Elizabeth National Park (Western Uganda)
This park is located in the western area of the Great Rift Valley of East Africa, near the famous Ruwenzori Mountains, or “Mountains of the Moon” which Livingstone had to cross in his quest to find the source of the White Nile. The park covers almost 2000 square kilometers, and includes a remarkable variety of ecosystems from semi-deciduous tropical forest to green meadows, savannah, crater lakes and swamps. There is a wide range of wildlife in the park, including lion, leopard, elephant, hippo, buffalo, and hyena, a host of smaller game, small primates and over 500 bird species. Activities include game drives, a launch trip on the majestic Kazinga Channel, chimpanzee trekking at the nearby Kyambura Gorge, as well as guided nature and bird walks.
 
Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Breakfast at the Primate Lodge. After breakfast at leisure, depart from Kibale Forest and head south, through the scenic town of Fort Portal, to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3 hours). Driving through the Albertine Rift you will get spectacular views of the Mountains of the Moon. 
 Day 6:
Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • 3 game drives to be taken at your leisure 
  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at your lodges.
 Day 7:
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (South-western Uganda) 
 
This Park covers an area of 321 square kilometers and is located on the edge of the Western Rift Valley. This mysterious and awesome forest is true African jungle, and is so called because the dense undergrowth, vines and other vegetation make it almost “impenetrable”. Huge trees are festooned with creepers and plants such as mistletoe and orchids. Giant thickets of bamboo thrive in the humid atmosphere and, where sunlight breaks through, the elegant heliconia or lobster claw spreads its colorful petals. The forest is a sanctuary for almost half the world’s population of mountain gorillas, which is the rarest race of gorilla. Activities include a gorilla tracking expedition in the forest. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of the gorillas. Once you sight the gorillas, you are permitted to view them for an hour. Observing these great primates is a moving and exciting experience never to be forgotten.
 
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 
  • After an early breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park with a packed lunch, and head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the magnificent mountain gorilla. Arrive at Gorilla Safari Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the late afternoon.
  Day 8:
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 
 
  • After an early breakfast, depart from your lodge with picnic lunch boxes and assemble at the nearest ranger post of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to be introduced to your rangers, and for a briefing on your trek. Begin your gorilla tracking expedition. When you find the gorillas, you will be permitted to view them for an hour before returning to the park headquarters and to your lodge 
  Day 9:
Lake Mburo National Park
This park is located between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara and is the only one to contain an entire lake. The attractive acacia-dotted savannah covers an area of 256 square kilometers, and is home to huge herds of impala, as well as the uncommon topi, eland, klipspringer and other antelope. Zebra and buffalo also graze these peaceful acres. At the lake, there are hippo and crocodile, and a wonderful diversity of birds. Catch a glimpse of water birds diving for fish, the Marabou Stork, bee-eaters and cheeky Bronze tailed starling, as well as the majestic Crowned Crane.
 
 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast at leisure, bid farewell to your camp and head north-east (with packed lunch boxes) towards the quiet and serene Lake Mburo National Park, to arrive by mid-afternoon.
 
  Day 10:
Lake Mburo National Park to Entebbe onto Nairobi
  • 3 game drives to be taken at your leisure 
  • Breakfast and then bid farewell to your lodge and proceed to Entebbe 
  • 270 km -5 hours’ drive 
  • If you wish, you can stop for an early lunch en-route on your own account
  • Drop off at the Entebbe international airport for the flight to Nairobi. Met on arrival and transferred to the hotel
